House Committee To Examine Unpopular Healthcare Provision
The first hearing held by the House Small Business Committee this year will focus on the so-called “1099 provision” within the new healthcare law.
Chairman Sam Graves (R-Mo.) and the rest of the full committee will hear from small business owners about the provision, which requires businesses to report payments of $600 and more to vendors.
Republicans on the committee believe the requirement places “administrative burdens” on businesses that are attempting to regain footing as the nation’s economy slowly recovers.
