DC Protesters March On Egyptian Embassy
As the Egyptian people continue to call for President Hosni Mubarak to step down, hundreds gathered in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to show their solidarity.
“One two three four, kick Mubarak out the door” rang through the streets of Washington as the group marched roughly four miles down Connecticut Ave., from the Egyptian Embassy to the White House. Many protesters told TRNS they marched to show their support for a more democratic Egypt.
“Just like we live free here, people all over the world should be able to live free too,” one demonstrator said. “You should be able to provide things for your family, like bread, you shouldn’t have to fight over bread.”
The protest was organized by the Answer Coalition, a United States-based group.
