Nothing Partisan About Same-Sex Marriages, Conyers Says

House Democrats stood alongside gay and lesbian rights activists Wednesday to announce the re-introduction of legislation that would repeal and replace the controversial Defense of Marriage Act. The legislation, coined the Respect for Marriage Act, would allow state-sanctioned same sex marriages to be federally recognized. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich) says it’s not a political issue, but one of common decency. (0:34)
