Baldwin: Over 1,000 Federal Rights Denied To Same-Sex Marriages
House Democrats stood alongside gay and lesbian rights activists Wednesday to announce the re-introduction of legislation that would repeal and replace the controversial Defense of Marriage Act. The legislation, coined the Respect for Marriage Act, would allow state-sanctioned same sex marriages to be federally recognized. Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) says it’s a matter of family values.
