4.3% Of U.S. GDP Is Spent On Defense

Center for American Progress Vice President of Economic Policy Michael Ettlinger says that the Obama administration must focus on cutting defense spending as a means of paying for an upcoming troop escalation in Afghanistan. Ettlinger cites the fact that defense spending currently represents 1/5th of the federal budget as a need for such action. (:31)
