Sen. Brownback: Looking at ways to lessen dependence on foreign oil
Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) talks about the Open Fuel Standard Act which would require that fifty percent of new automobiles be fuel flex vehicles by 2012. Brownback explains that the U.S. sends over half a trillion dollars per year to OPEC and non-OPEC nations for imported oil. He says that the nation’s foreign policy has been dictated in part for the need for foreign oil for far too long. (1:11)
