House Votes To Pass Intel Reauthorization

Despite the White House’s disapproval, the House wrapped up its week Friday by voting to pass a bill that funds the agencies tasked with gathering and processing national security intelligence through the rest of the current fiscal year.

The final vote tally was 392-15. The White House, however, released a statement earlier in the week expressing concern over the fact that the legislation cut funding levels by $200 million compared to last year.

In addition to authorizing funding for the bevy of agencies, the bill also recognizes the intelligence community for its efforts to capture and kill infamous terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.
