Egypt Celebrates While Unrest Lingers In Region

Thousands of jubilant Egyptians gathered in celebration to celebrate the end of Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year tenure as the nation’s president.

Egyptians gathered to participate in a “Victory March” in Tahrir Square, a central location for protesters during the 18-day standoff against Mubarak.

While Egypt celebrates, other countries in the region are in turmoil, participating in protests of their own. Peaceful protests in Bahrain, Yemen and Iraq have been met with violent opposition, injuring some and killing others.
