Legal Affairs correspondent Jay Tamboli will be attending the Allen Institute for Brain Science which will unveil the world's first genome-wide spinal cord atlas.
The Washington Bureau will be covering hearings on nuclear weapons complex modernization, the assessment of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) performance since Katrina, administration interrogations of Guantanamo Bay and sustainable urban redevelopment and climate change. A news conference to release a new economic agenda "Invest in America's Future" and a discussion on "Notions of Liberty in Islam" and a rally with activists from the Service Employees International Union will also be covered. The Washington Bureau will report on Oxfam America's human development report for 2008-2009 and the Environmental and Energy Study Institute's briefing on transportation policy and oil independence. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's weekly press conference will also be covered.
A Senator Barack Obama campaign conference call regarding how Ohio's working women stand to benefit from Obama's economic plan will be recorded. In addition, a conference call hosted by the 'Every Child Matters' education fund will be recorded.

Chief Pentagon correspondent Meredith Mackenzie will be at the White House covering the press gaggle. The Washington Bureau will be attending the hearing on "Contractor Misconduct and the Electrocution Deaths of American Soldiers in Iraq" held by the Democratic Policy committee, as well as a full committee hearing on legislation amending the Commodity Exchange Act held by the House Agriculture Committee. The Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Subcommittee hearing on "General Services Administration's (GSA) FY2009 Capital Investment and Leasing Program" will also be covered. Later in the day, the bureau will attend the Alliance for Health Reform’s discussion on "Innovations in Patient Care: Lessons from the Field."

Correspondent S. Dawn Jones will be tackling our Pentagon coverage today. 10th Mountain Division Commander Army Maj. Gen. Michael will be briefing reporters to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq. Chief UN Correspondent Dan Patterson reports that the UN Security Council did not vote on the Zimbabwe draft resolution.

The Washington Bureau will cover the House Judiciary Committee as it focuses on “Politicization of the Justice Department.” Subpoenaed to testify is Karl Rove the former White House Political Director. Energy will again be focused on as the House Energy and Commerce Committee takes a look at carbon capture and storage. On the Senate side the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will be focusing on the roots of violent Islamist extremism and the efforts to counter it.

The Washington Bureau will cover a Senate examination of the firing of a Pentagon auditor for denying $1 billion in questionable war funds with Senators Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Byron Dorgan (D-ND). Other events include a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on protecting mass gatherings in a post-9/11 world and a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Iraqi Security Forces. The Bureau will also cover both the House and Senate Foreign Relations Committees’ hearings on Iran. In addition, the Bureau will cover the House Armed Services Committee hearing on defense language, the House Financial Services Committee hearing on federal spending on housing and community development, the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee hearing on reducing risks in the credit derivatives market, and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on oversight of the Department of Justice.
