Gingrich Vows To Press On With 2012 Campaign
Newt Gingrich announced Thursday that despite the mass-resignation of his senior aides, he will continue his campaign for the Presidency.
“I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring,” Gingrich said in a statement.
The former House Speaker’s campaign got off to a rocky start after he appeared to flip-flop on whether or not he supported Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wisc.) plan to reduce the deficit. In his statement, he said that the campaign “begins anew” on Sunday.
Gingrich is scheduled to appear in New Hampshire this Monday for the second Republican debate of the 2012 campaign season.
On Thursday, it was reported that 4 of Gingrich’s staffers left the campaign, as well as two of his consultants.
