Obama Pitches "Win The Future" Initiative To California's Tech Moguls

President Barack Obama met with a dozen leading members of the technology world Thursday night during a visit to California’s Silicon Valley.

According to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, the President used the meeting to pitch the White House’s Win the Future initiative, a plan that calls for investments in innovation and education as a means to outpace foreign nations in the global economy.

“The President specifically discussed his proposals to invest in research and development and expand incentives for companies to grow and hire, along with his goal of doubling exports over five years to support millions of American job,” Carney told reporters. “The President expressed his desire to continue a dialogue with the group to share new ideas so we can work as partners to promote growth.”

The meeting was held at the home of venture capitalist John Doerr. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Google CEO Eric Schmidt were also reportedly in attendance.
