Poll: Obama's Approval Up 8 Percent
President Barack Obama’s approval rate has risen by eight points since last month, according to a poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News.
53 percent of those who responded said that they approve of the job that President is doing, whereas 41 percent say that they disapprove, a seven point drop since the previous month.
The poll also found that 55 percent of respondents believe the President will take an even-handed approach when dealing with Congress.
The Wall Street Journal and NBC News conducted the poll between January 13 and 17th. 1,000 adults participated.
The apparent uptick in popularity follows President Obama’s highly praised remarks in Arizona following the shooting in Tucson. It also comes as the 2012 election season begins to take shape.
