House Votes 245-189 To Repeal Health Care Reform
The House of Representatives voted Wednesday evening to repeal the health care reform law passed in the last Congress.
The final vote came in at 245-189, with three Democrats siding with the new Republican majority.
The legislation, entitled The Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act, is not expected to gain much traction. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has indicated that he will not bring the bill to the upper chamber and President Barack Obama has said that he will veto the legislation it if it reaches his desk.
Congressional Republicans will now likely move forward with a piecemeal approach to repeal, wherein specific provisions will be targeted individually.
