Obama Deems Education As Major Factor In Economic Recovery
President Barack Obama continued with his efforts to draw in Democratic supporters for November’s election as he met with local New Mexicans today in Albuquerque.
The president’s stop in the Land of Enchantment is part of a series of backyard forums aimed at discrediting conservative critics who say Obama is out of touch with the American people. In today’s discussion, Obama focused on new initiatives his administration is planning to pursue in order to increase the quality and affordability of education young Americans have access to.
“There are a lot of issues we’ve been working on in Washington, a lot of them get a lot of attention,” Obama said. “But something that hasn’t gotten as much attention is what we’ve been trying to do working with states and local school districts over the last two years to make sure that we’re moving in a new direction in improving our education system.”
After today’s backyard discussion Obama heads to the University of Wisconsin in Madison while Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Penn State University, both trips seemingly aimed at sparking the youth vote to reenergize and hit the polls for November’s midterm election.
