This "economic stimulus package" is ludicrous. Most of it consists of ... you guessed it... tax cuts for the wealthy and for businesses, most of whom pay so few taxes anyway that any extra money they take home will be negligible. This rebate check idea is pitiful as well. Giving some (not all) Americans 800 dollars will not make them increase spending. More than likely, it will be used to pay down the nation's exhorbitant debts to credit card companies, banks, and other predatory loaning institutions. It will do nothing to solve the serious structural problems of costs and debts in housing, energy, and healthcare, to name of few.
