Boehner calls Obama's budget "irresponsible" 

At a news conference today, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) says that the Republican alternative to President Obama's budget will "create jobs by allowing American families and small businesses to keep more of what they earn." He says that the President's budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much from our kids and grandkids. "I just think that this may be the most irresponsible piece of legislation I've ever seen in my legislative career," says Boehner. (2:32)

Obama's Budget "Fiscally Irresponsible"

Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) accused President Obama’s budget of “bringing forward the largest tax increase in American history” and “adding more than one trillion dollars to the national debt every year, for the next ten years,” at a House GOP stakeout today. At a Committee on the Budget hearing, Ranking member Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) says that, "even with the rosiest of economic assumptions, this budget never even comes close to achieving a balanced budget.” Ryan goes on to say that, “Republicans, we don’t have the votes to really do anything about this. So I guess the question will become, this year, will all democrats march in lockstep with this vision, with this type of transformation.” (1:13)

Scot Faulkner, Former Chief Administrative Officer to the House of Representatives under Newt Gingrich, sat down with Talk Radio News Service's Michael Ruhl at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He said that the problem with current Republicans is that they "ceased being the Republican Party". Faulkner said that he has been involved through the years with the likes of Goldwater and Reagan, who were concerned about limiting the Bureaucracy, something he believes George W. Bush did not do well during his presidency. He continued by speaking about what the Republican Party can do to help rebuild their image. (06:44)
