Apollo Astronaut Advocates Creation Of Moon Base
Charles Duke Jr., Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 16, advises that if the U.S. was to return to the moon, it should build a base similar to those in Antarctica. "I think we can develop technologies that we can use to extract Oxygen, hydrogen from the rocks and utilize resources there to help us inhabit this area of the moon for a considerable time," said Duke.
