Gov. Rendell: U.S. Needs To Compete With High Speed Rail Systems In Europe And Asia

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D) says that the U.S. can not be content with 110 mile high speed rail systems.

"If we do that we are absolutely consigning ourselves to second class citizenship compared to Asia and Europe. We have to find a way to build and finance true high speed rail," said Rendell (0:35)

Analyst: China Key To Stopping North Korea

Celia Canon talks to Bruce Klingner, an analyst for the Heritage Foundation, about North Korea’s recent underground nuclear tests and what can be done to halt Pyong Yang’s recent acceleration in its technological developments and trials. Klingner insists that China will be pivotal is sanctioning and stopping North Korea’s nuclear program.

However, Klingner also warns that this will not be an easy task, but that the government needs to stop praising China for its efforts when it could really do much more to involve itself in the international community’s sanctions. (1:01)

Commerce Dept. worried over US leadership

Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade Christopher Padilla says that the United States will cede its economic leadership in Asia if Congress fails to pass the Korea Free Trade Agreement, increasing the likelihood that the United States will be left out of future trade agreements.
