Believe it or not, we're already 2nd class to a large chunk of Europe, which has weathered this economic crisis much better than we have, and the 'tigers' are overtaking us. High Speed Rail is a big reason we're falling behind - it transforms commerce and industry over megaregions and a large, diverse group of people mutually benefit from its development. The Oberstar-Mica bipartisan Surfact Transportation Authorization Act of 2009 is one of the wisest things we can support - great private enterprise thrives upon visionary public infrastructure - write congressmen, senators, governors, legislators, mayors, friends, neighbors, and pets.
