UN:Piracy Has "Incalculable" Toll On Somali Society

Under-Secretary-General Patricia O’Brien says the cost of Somali piracy has risen to astronomical levels. 44% of the near three hundred hijackings in the first 9 months of 2010 were caused by Somalis, many of whom believe that they are exacting justice on foreign vessels for dumping toxic waste and fishing illegally.
