DOMA Treats Same-Sex Couples As Strangers, Says Nadler
House Democrats stood alongside gay and lesbian rights activists Wednesday to announce the re-introduction of legislation that would repeal and replace the controversial Defense of Marriage Act. The legislation, coined the Respect for Marriage Act, would allow state-sanctioned same sex marriages to be federally recognized. Rep. Jerry Nadler, (D-N.Y.) says it’s long overdue. (1:05)
