'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Keeping Good People Out Of The Military, Says Reserve Soldier

Joe Lazzerini, a member of the Army Reserve from Massachusetts, voiced his opposition Tuesday to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the policy barring gay soldiers from openly serving in the military.

“[Don't Ask, Don't Tell'] is sending good people out of the military,” said Lazzerini. “I want to be able to continue serving my country, not because I’m gay, but because I do like serving my country.” (0:31)

I want to publicly thank Joe Lazzerini for having the courage to speak openly and honestly and for also having the guts to serve his country. A rare breed these days. Thanks again, Joey!
