Conditions For Haitian Women Similar To Post-Conflict Sites, Says Former New York Times Chief

UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) today launched “The State of World Population 2010: From Conflict and Crisis to Renewal: Generations of Change.”  The report highlights a decade old UN Security Council commitment which calls on all governments to protect women from rape during conflict, and to utilize the role of women to build peace. 

Barbara Crossette, the former New York Times chief who authored the report, says that conditions for women in post-quake Haiti mirrors the conditions for women in post-conflict zones. (0:15)
