NORAD Escorts Passenger Flight To JFK

CNN reports that a passenger flight from the Untied Arab Emirates to JFK International Airport in New York City which NORAD began escorting over Canadian airspace, has landed without incident at around 3:30 pm Friday.

The flight (Emirate 201) orginated in Sanaa, Yemen yesterday and was on its way from Dubai to New York when it was first escorted by Canadian and then United States fighter jets.

Al Qaeda Possibly Behind Suspicious Packages, Say US Officials

US officials have believe Friday’s packages are connected to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, according to CNN.  

Suspicious FedEx Package Confiscated In Dubai

According to CNN, United Arab Emirates authorities confiscated a suspicious package from a FedEx processing facility in Dubai on Friday morning.  The confiscated package originate in Yemen.  

Tip Claims Suspicious Packages Were Meant For Chicago Synagogues

According to a CNN report, in the last 24 hours security officials received a tip that synagogues in the Chicago area were the targets of the suspicious packages which originated in Yemen.  The source of the tip remains unnamed.  

Suspicious Package Found Outside Federal Courthouse In Portland, Maine

Fox News reports that the access to the Federal Courthouse in Portland, Maine has been shut down due to the discovery of a suspicious package around 10 am Friday morning.
