Poll: GOP On Track To Upset Dems In N.Y. Special Election
Democrats may suffer an unlikely blow in next week’s New York special election to replace disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), according to a recent poll released by Siena College.
Republican candidate Bob Turner holds a six-point lead over his Democratic counterpart David Weprin, according to the poll. The Queens-and-Brooklyn district has historically been carried by Democrats, but Turner has held his own and has even overcome a six-point disadvantage based on a pool conducted just four weeks ago.
The poll was conducted between Sept. 6-8 and included 886 likely voters. There is a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percent.
