Poll Shows Pawlenty Trailing Badly In Michigan

According to a new poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has a lot of work to do with voters in the Wolverine State.

Just 4% of those who were surveyed said they prefer Pawlenty, who trails leading GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney by a 20% margin. Meanwhile, Tea Party Rep. Michele Bachmann (18%), Texas Governor Rick Perry (14%), businessman Herman Cain (7%), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (7%), libertarian Rep. Ron Paul (6%) and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (5%), who represents a district in Michigan, all finished ahead of Pawlenty.

The poll surveyed “400 usual Michigan Republican primary voters,” and was conducted from July 21-24.
