Charges Against Strauss-Kahn Likely To Be Dropped

Former International Monetary Fund chief Domonique Strauss-Kahn may soon see sexual assault charges that cost him his job dropped.  

According to reports, prosecutors will ask a judge to dismiss the charges at the next scheduled court date Tuesday. 

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office will likely tell Straus-Kahn accuser Nafissatou Diallo that it will not continue with the case against the former IMF chief.

Prosecutors do not believe they have sufficient evidence proving a forced sexual encounter, leaving its case in the hands of Diallo’s credibility and believability. 

However, due to recent revelations and inconsistencies with Diallo’s personal history, her credibility is shot, making it near impossible to ask a jury to take her word as truth, a source close to the case told the Associated Press.

Diallo’s attorney, Kenneth Thomspon, told France’s RTL radio that his client, Diallo, “feels abandoned by the Manhattan District Attorney.”
