Colbert Gets His Super PAC

by Eric Rice

The Federal Election Commission ruled Thursday that Stephen Colbert can start his super PAC.  “You may form your super PAC,” the chair told him. The PAC would be able to raise unlimited amounts of money from individuals, corporations and unions.  A media exemption would allow him to use the resources of Viacom, the parent company of Colbert’s Comedy Central, to promote his PAC on his show.  The PAC is intended as a protest against what Colbert sees as the excessive influence of money in politics.
