Obama's Top Counterterrorism Chief Maps Out Future Of War On Terror

President Obama’s Chief Counterterrorism Adviser said Wednesday that the future of America’s global fight against terrorists will involve more targeted special operations and drone strikes.

Brennan spoke to an audience gathered at the John’s Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he outlined a new counterterrorism strategy put forth by the current administration earlier this month.

Brennan, a former CIA officer, also stressed the importance that Pakistan will play in the United States’ ongoing mission against Al-Qaeda. 

As frustrating as America’s relationship with Pakistan has been in recent weeks, Brennan reminded that “Pakistan has been crucial to many of our most significant successes against Al-Qaeda.”

“I’m confident that Pakistan will remain one of our most important counterterrorism partners,” he added.
