51 Percent Of Likely Voters Want U.S. Out Of Afghanistan By 2012

51% of likely voters want the U.S. to remove all American troops from Afghanistan within a year, according a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.

The results come shortly after President Obama announced plans to remove 33,000 troops by next summer, a decision that would leave thousands of troops still in the country.

While announcing the decision, President Obama acknowledged the war weariness growing among lawmakers and the American public.

“This has been a difficult decade for our country. We have learned anew the profound cost of war,” Obama said.

The poll was conducted between June 22-23rd among 1,000 likely voters.
