DeMint Weighing Presidential Bid
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:40AMSen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) has indicated that he is considering throwing his hat into the 2012 GOP presidential race, according to The Hill.
DeMint told the media outlet that after many frustrated conservatives approached him, urging him to run, he began contemplating the White House bid and talked with his wife about running.
“It’s humbling and out of respect, my wife and I have talked about it,” DeMint said late last week of a possible White House bid. “Out of respect for the people who have asked us to think about this, that’s what we’re going to do. I don’t want to imply that I’m changing in mind, but I want to consider what all these folks are doing.”
