Pawlenty Says He'll Offer His Own Medicare Plan

GOP Presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty said Wednesday that he will soon unveil his own proposal for dealing with a Medicare system that experts say is slowly headed for bankruptcy.

Following a speech at the libertarian CATO Institute in Washington, D.C. this afternoon, the former Minnesota Governor stopped short of endorsing the Medicare plan put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), but said that his plan won’t exactly mirror that of the House Budget Chairman’s.

“The direction of it is positive, but I’m going to have my own plan,” Pawlenty said. “It’ll be different from Congressman Ryan’s plan, and we’ll have it for you in the not-too-distant future.”
