Planned Parenthood Claims Pence “Intentionally Misleading” Public

Planned Parenthood is fighting back against Rep. Mike Pence after the Indiana Republican criticizing Congressional leaders for not eliminating funding for the women’s health organization in the recent short-term budget compromise.

“Representative Pence well knows that for over 30 years not a dollar of federal funding that Planned Parenthood has received to provide preventive and basic health care has paid for abortion, but he continues to mislead everyone he talks to,” a statement from Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards reads.

Richards added that Pence’s remarks have been “intentionally misleading.”

During an appearance on ABC’s This Week, Pence charged that Democrats “were willing to shut the government down to continue to fund abortion providers in this country” and that “Planned Parenthood’s clinics focus mainly on abortion.”
