Tea Partiers To Storm Capitol Hill On Thursday
Monday, March 28, 2011 at 4:22PMFed up with what they say is the refusal of lawmakers to significantly cut spending, Tea Partiers will hold a rally on Capitol Hill this Thursday.
The event, being organized by the group Tea Party Patriots, is intended to put pressure on House and Senate leaders to back steep reductions in order to bring federal spending under control. Its title — C.R. 3.31 Continuing Revolution — is a jab at Congress for failing to pass a budget this year.
Speakers will include Tea Party favorites Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Steve King King (R-Iowa).
