McCain: Obama Is A Centrist
On the heels of his private meeting with President Barack Obama, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) recently told Bloomberg Television that the president’s centrist shift will make him easier to work with in the future.
“I think there’s a number of issues we could work on together, and I think it’s prettty clear that the president has really pivoted to a much more centrist postition, which I think makes it much more for us easier to work with him,” the former Republican presidential candidate said.
Some would argue that Obama’s decision to extend all Bush-era tax cuts and the appointment of JPMorganChase executive Bill Daley as White House Chief of Staff are evidence of a centrist shift.
