Egyptian Government Lashes Out Against Journalists

With tension continuing to rise in Egypt, the New York Times is reporting that the Egyptian government is attempting to gain control by arresting journalists and human rights activists.

Among those arrested were two reporters from the New York Times and two Washington Post staffers. 

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other administration officials are speaking out against the arrests. White House Spokesmen Robert Gibbs told reporters “any journalist that has been detained should be released immediately.”
