Obama Names Carl Shapiro To Council Of Economic Advisers

President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that he will name Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economics at the Justice Department Carl Shapiro to his Council of Economic Advisers.

“Carl Shapiro has demonstrated knowledge and dedication throughout his career,” Obama said. “I am grateful that he has chosen to take on this important role, and I look forward to working with him in the months and years to come.”

Shapiro will replace Cecilia Rouse who will be leaving for a position at Princeton University.
