Durbin Vows Support For Debt Commission's Plan

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) recently announced that he will support the deficit-reduction plan drawn up by co-chairs of President Barack Obama’s deficit commission.

With Durbin’s vote, a majority of the 18-member panel now support the plan’s deficit-slashing proposals but it does not look like it will muster up the 14 votes needed to adopt its provisions.

The panel is expected to vote on the controversial plan today.
