Obama Emphasizes Importance Of U.S.-Indonesian Relations

President Barack Obama emphasized the importance of the United States’ relationship with Indonesia following a meeting Tuesday with the country’s President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

“The most important thing that comes out of this visit is finalizing the comprehensive partnership between our two countries,” Obama told reporters. “We are very invested in making this successful because it is our belief that Indonesia is not just a rising regional power but a rising world power.”

Yudhoyono noted that he was optimistic about Indonesia’s future with the country following the meeting.
