OPINION: Obama's Amnesty

President Obama’s team says they’re doing us a favor by not enforcing the law.

They are halting over 300,000 pending deportations. Illegal immigrants without a criminal conviction will likely be allowed to stay in the US plus get a work permit.

Did they forget that it’s a crime to enter the US illegally or to overstay a visa?

The announcement is bad news both because it’s amnesty and because it lets illegal immigrants take more jobs while millions of Americans remain out of work.

And what about the claim that it saves money not to enforce the law?

Why not save us a lot more by not enforcing some of the silly environmental and endangered species regulations, which kill jobs with little benefit?

President Obama’ is making a transparent appeal to pro-amnesty groups, even as his support keeps collapsing among the general public.
