Palin Says She Has What It Takes For White House Run
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Thursday evening that she has the motivation necessary for a White House bid.
“I do have the fire in my belly,” Palin said during an interview on Fox News with Greta Van Susteren. “I am so adamantly supportive of the good, traditional things about America and our free enterprise system.”
Palin added that the only way to get the country “back on track” would be by ousting President Obama in 2012.
Palin, the Republican Vice Presidential nominee in 2008, said she is weighing “practical, pragmatic decisions,” including concerns that a run would put increased scrutiny on her family.
A Gallup poll released after former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s decision not to run put Palin in second place against other GOP candidates, with 18 percent support. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney held a mere 2 point lead.
However, she also regularly summons a negative response from many voters. According to a recent poll performed by Suffolk University in Boston found that 58 percent of voters viewed her “unfavorably.”
