Obama Calls Ryan Budget "Radical"
President Obama today took perhaps his sharpest swipe yet at a deficit plan put forth by House Republicans, calling it “radical.”
During a town hall event held at the headquarters of the social networking giant Facebook, Obama was asked whether he thinks the GOP’s proposal, crafted by House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wsis.), is courageous, as some have called it.
“The Republican budget that was put forward, I would say, is fairly radical. I wouldn’t call it particularly courageous,” Obama said.
Elaborating, the President discussed his uneasiness over how the plan curbs spending by reforming the structures of both Medicare and Medicaid.
“I guess you can call that bold,” he said. “I would call it short sighted.”
