Obama Poised For Final Four Redemption

March Madness is a nationally celebrated collegiate event and has a majority of Americans taking time to fill out brackets and make their picks for this year’s heralded NCAA Final Four.

Among the brave “bracketeers” is President Barack Obama, who is expected to tape his picks today for tomorrow’s unveiling on ESPN.

After fairing pretty well in 2009, picking the North Carolina Tarheels to win it, which they did, Obama is trying to improve from last year’s showing, going 0 for 4 in selecting Final Four teams. Picking Kansas to win it all last year, the president was snubbed after the Jayhawks were upset in the Second Round by the Northern Iowa Panthers.

Obama’s ratio for selecting Final Four teams as president is 1 for 8 and with one of the most wide-open fields in recent history, upsets are likely to serve as bracket busters for many of the nation’s picks. The president is not immune to this dilemma, but based on last year’s Final Four goose egg, he can’t do any worse.
