LISTEN: TRNS Interviews President Of Planned Parenthood

Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, tells Victoria Jones that pro choice Republican senators Snowe, Collins and Bown were voting in a procedural way only when they voted Wednesday for the Republican measure that would cut spending by another $57 billion this year. The measure eliminates federal funding for Planned Parenthood. Richards also says Republicans are making a mistake attempting to eliminate funding as 800,000 people have already contacted the organization to protest. In some places, Planned Parenthood is the only source of low cost preventive health care, she says.  This is a war on women’s health care, RIchards says. (13:25)
