Congressman Beats Jeopardy’s Supercomputer

Rep. Rush Holt (D-N.J.) has reportedly beat the supercomputer known as Watson during an appearance on the show game show Jeopardy.

“I played a full round against [Watson] tonight,” Holt said in a Twitter post. “The final tally was Holt $8,600, Watson $6,200.”

Watson was produced by IBM as an artificial intelligence program and has beat two of the show’s best performing players, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.

Holt holds a MA and PhD in physics and was the director of the State Department’s Nuclear and Scientific Division of the Office of Strategic Forces.

Representatives Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Nan Hayworth (R-N.Y.) and Jim Himes (D-Conn.) appeared with Holt on the show.
