Mubarak Dishes To ABC's Amanpour

ABC News Correspondent Christiane Amanpour scored a major interview with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday.

In the interview, the embattled dictator told the veteran reporter that he “would like to leave office now, but cannot…for fear that the country would sink into chaos.”

“I was very unhappy about yesterday. I do not want to see Egyptians fighting each other,” Mubarak said.

Mubarak denied that he was grooming his son, Gamal, 46, to succeed him, and added that he intends to stay in Egypt until his death.
