Obama To Name Intel CEO To Jobs Council
President Barack Obama is expected to name Intel CEO Paul Otellini to his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
Obama will make the announcement Friday during his visit to Intel’s advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Oregon.
Otellini will follow GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt to the newly created council after Obama named Immelt as its head shortly after its January inception.
Obama’s trip to Oregon is part of a series of West Coast visits he is using to reconnect with the country’s businesses. Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg met with the president in San Francisco Thursday night to kick off the two-day trip.
