WH Shooting Suspect Claimed To Be Jesus
Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, the Idaho man accused of firing at the White House, made a video earlier this year in which he claimed to be a “modern day Jesus.”
The video was obtained by KBOI, an Idaho CBS affiliate, and served as an audition tape for Oprah Winfrey’s television program. It depicts Ortega-Hernandez in a black jacket with a cross necklace reading from a notebook for over twenty minutes.
“I am the modern day Jesus Christ that you all have been waiting for,” Ortega-Hernandez says. “I’m begging you Oprah, please cast me on to your show. It is so crucial that the world hears god’s word.”
At a different point in the video, Ortega-Hernandez claims that he is completely sober and is willing to undergo a drug test.
Ortega-Hernandez is believed to have fired an automatic rifle at the south side of the White House last Friday. No one was injured and the President was not in the building.
The Secret Service apprehended the 21 year old Idaho man after finding him at a hotel in Pennsylvania earlier this week. He has been charged with attempted assassination.
