House Takes On Additional Temporary Spending Bill
The House is expected to vote on a legislative package Thursday that includes a resolution to continue federal spending through mid December, the latest in a series of temporary spending bills aimed at preventing a government shutdown.
The newest Continuing Resolution is included in the “minibus” package alongside appropriations bills for several government agencies: Agriculture, Transportation, Justice and Housing and Urban Development. It is a clean extension of current funding levels and will keep the government operating until December 16th.
In addition to allocating funds, the minibus includes language restricting the Justice Department ability to implement stronger firearms policies.
The Senate is expected to vote on the minibus package shortly after. Without Congressional action, the government is set to run out of funding late Friday.
