Oscar Nods Unveiled
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced their 2010 Oscar nominees Tuesday with British drama “The King’s Speech” garnering 12 nominations and western “True Grit” receiving 10.
Both films are up for best Picture, along with “The Social Network,” “Black Swan,” “The Fighter,” “Inception,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “127 Hours,” “Winter’s Bone,” and “Toy Story 3.”
Best actor nominations went to Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech,” Jeff Bridges for “True Grit,” James Franco for “127 Hours,” Jesse Eisenberg for “The Social Network,” and Javier Bardem for “Biutiful.”
Natalie Portman and Anette Bening are up for best actress for “Black Swan” and “The Kids Are Alright” respectively. Also securing nominations are Nicole Kidman for “Rabbit Hole,” Michelle Williams for “Blue Valentine,” and Jennifer Lawrence for “Winter Bone.”
The best directing nominees are Darren Aronofsky for “Black Swan,” “David O. Russell for “The Fighter,” Tom Hooper for “The King’s Speech,” David Fincher for “The Social Network,” and brother Joel and Ethan Coen for “True Grit.”
